Have you ever wondered how DiSC Personality Styles might respond to social media?
The High D – Dominant Style Asks: “WHAT”
They might be thinking . . . WHAT'S in it for me? Since Social Networking is about gaining “Mind-Share” and “Market-Share.” . . . and being the expert that I am, I have lots to say . . . WHAT better place than Twitter, for me establish myself as “first-est” with “most-est” and tell others about who I am and what I do . . . and in 140 characters or less.
The High i – Influencing Style Asks: “WHO”
They might be thinking. . . WHO else is "Friending?" and "Tweeting?" I don’t know any strangers – there are only friends I haven’t yet met - now I can connect with people all over the world. WHO else will be socializing online today - being on-line is one continuous party . . . it gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling to be invited to friend or follow someone . . . I feel accepted.
The High S – Steadiness Style Asks: “HOW”
They might be thinking . . . HOW can I ever learn all this? This is overwhelming . . . HOW can I ever navigate in all this internet traffic. I’m on Facebook and Linkedin . . . but HOW do I know I can trust all these people who send me invitations . . . HOW much can I believe what people say about themselves on their profile?
The High C – Conscientiousness Style Asks: WHY?
They might be thinking. . . WHY would anyone ever want to do this anyway? WHY would I want to share my information with a complete stranger. Is it safe? I need to be assured that my privacy will be protected. I only want to connect with people that I know and trust . . . I need to access this further to see if the benefits outweigh the risks.
